NORTH DEVON - part 1...

Monday

We (mum, dad and I) set off early to make the most of our 1st day in N. Devon, but very quickly it began pouring down with rain and didn't stop all day! So all we got was a glimpse of Exmoor through the mist and then we stopped at Watersmeet for a drink - I really recommend if you go there trying the flapjack, it's yummy!
We weren't allowed in our B&B room in Lynton until 3.00 so we had lots of time to kill. So we got our waterproofs on and had a look around Lynmouth, along with loads of other mad tourists!
We looked around the Lynmouth Flood Memorial Hall which was both interesting and sad. There was a model of how Lynmouth looked before the flood which was really good and a video showing footage of the disaster. The bravery of some people was incredible.

We then had a very quick walk along the River Lyn winding through the Exmoor hills, which was beautiful even in the mist and rain.

By this time it was nearly 3:00 so we headed off to the B&B to get warm and dried!
It was a lovely old fashioned house with nice views and only 10 minutes away from the Valley of the Rocks.
